We believe that our “mission” as Christians and the church is the Great Commission given to us by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20.  We try to equip and encourage every Christian to be actively involved in sharing the Gospel and we provide opportunities to do that.  First Baptist Church is involved in several mission endeavors, both local and around the world ranging from outreach efforts in our community, to supporting ministries like Shoals Sav-A-Life, to organized mission trips.  We have been involved in church-planting partnerships in under-served areas of our country. Through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, a portion of every dollar given to the church goes to work not only in our community and state, but around the world supporting missionaries who are “on the job” sharing the gospel every day.
